OPEN SPACE TASK FORCE MINUTES
Meeting of December 5, 2005
Meeting Called To Order: 5:34 p.m.

MEMBERS PRESENT: Herb Asplund, Marcia Banach, Pat Botteron, Carol Heffler, Louise Evans, Mike Gantick, Karl Reichle, Jim Snow, Betty Warren
MEMBERS ABSENT: Roy Normen, Betty Osborne
· Warren spoke with Matt Galligan, Town Manager, in reference to the Schneider Estate. Galligan will speak with the executrix of this estate in regards to having environmental studies done on this parcel. Warren will keep the Task Force updated regarding the details of this property.
· The Uccello property, Abbe Rd. Ext., was reviewed. Banach and Botteron will attend the Council’s Executive Session this evening to discuss this property with the Town Council. Botteron will keep the Task Force abreast of the outcome of the Executive Session.
· Gantick reported that he and Reichle attended a forum on forest and timber management/harvesting. Ideas were exchanged with representatives from Connecticut and other states.
· Reichle is working with South Windsor teachers and students to have some of their environmental education studies on site at the Donnelly Preserve.
· Reichle reported that properties might be forthcoming for the Task Force to review.
Next scheduled meeting will be January 9, 2006
